The Yard Café Bar & Restaurant is situated in the centre of Swadlincote, within a listed Edwardian red brick building. The listed building was built in 1904, and after it's initial use as a grain store in the 1960's, it was owned by a local timber merchant then it became an architect's office before finally being converted to its current use. The stunning exterior and interior have a contemporary feel, though traditional features also play a part in making this one of the best establishments of its kind in the area. It was opened in November 2003 to great acclaim, and since that time has established a reputation which goes far beyond Swadlincote.
